Yesterday was Robert & Valerie’s birthday party. It was really cool, they had a bunch of people over to eat and hang out, but mainly to eat. There was so much food, we started with some BBQ brisket sandwiches and then there were burgers, after that was the crawfish (which I tries for the first time), and after that there was chicken for anyone who was still hungry. I ate a lot of crawfish.
From there I headed up to the office to pick up some Love The Unloved (LTUL) merch because we had some table space at the Scion of Dallas Spring Indie Fest, table space courtesy of The White Tie Event. The show was good, it had a great line up. LTUL did ok, not much action, but enough to call it a good night. However there was one notable instance: the rest of the Love The Unloved team couldn’t make it so someone there was going to help me out. Although they didn’t come by the table until about 9, and after they asked how it was going they said they were going to next door and grab a drink. Almost 2 hours later they came back trashed. They asked how it was going again and then felt the need to apologize for not helping out. What really made the moment was the band that was up at the moment (Homer Hiccolm & the Rocket Boys) struck the chorus to their song which goes “I would sell you out in a heartbeat”. I thought that was such perfect timing. It was as if, for a brief moment, my life had a soundtrack.
Afterwards though, the night got a little better ‘cause Zach S. called and I met him, Taylor H., Jill I., and Daniel J. at Nandino’s Sushi place. I ate a California roll.
