Today was the kick off of the State level BPA [Business Professionals of America] competition. The location for State this year is in Dallas. Because I live so close I’m not staying in the hotel like some of the other kids. Rather I’m just commuting back and fort [thanks to the DART rail].
Funny story: I went to purchase my ticket for the DART and it was $3. I had a single one dollar bill and a $20 bill. I inserted the 20 not realizing that it was going to give my change back to me in coins. That was annoying.
The ride was cool, it was my first time. It really wasn’t anything special.
My test time was at 4 o’clock. At 3:37 the fire alarm went off [I was in the bathroom]. I finished my business, washed my hands and went looking for the rest of my team [avoiding the nearest exits (which were the overhead instructions)].
As I had suspected, it turned out to be a false alarm pulled by some kid [most likely a BPAer].
I go back tomorrow for day 2. I’ll blog about it then,
Andrew Nemeth
