Want To Go For A Walk?

Want to go for a walk

Last night the plan was that after work, around 7, I’d meet up with my friend Taylor and we’d go pick out a suit and dress for prom.  Let me pause for a second and say that originally we were going to go on Monday and I was going to drive, but that didn’t work out so we moved it to Thursday.  Well Wednesday Emily got a call to baby-sit for some people, and the connection here is that Emily and I have been sharing the truck since she got her license.  So she talked to Taylor Wednesday night and said, “I’m going to borrow the truck tomorrow, so can you drive when you and Andrew go shopping?”.  Taylor was like, “Yeah, that’s not a problem.”  But it was.

What Taylor had forgotten about was that she and Hayes were working out in Dallas at a Fashion exhibit.  So on their way back into Rockwall Taylor just asked Hayes to drop her off at the office [where I was].  She walks in and gives me a call and is like, “Where are you?”  “Uh.. I’m at the office.  Where are you?”  I replied.  “Well, where is your truck?”  “Emily took it”  “Crap!”

Well, Hayes had already left and we couldn’t get a hold of her.  So there we were at the office with no car.  It wasn’t totally bad though, we decided, because Al’s Formal Wear was just like a couple blocks down the street behind the offices.  So no biggie.  We walked there and Taylor helped me pick out a tux and the sales lady measured me and the whole experience was kind of intense.  You wouldn’t really expect it to be, but it was.

We got out of there a little after 7:30 and still had no car, but we needed to look at some dresses.  So we decided to walk to JC Penny’s.  It was a ridiculously long walk.  So long in fact that we had to stop off at Joe Willy’s to pick up some smoothies.  Then we set off and kept walking, under I-30 and through the TA, down some side street, and finally to JC Penny’s.  Once we got there we sat down in shoes [because our legs and feet were tired.  Taylor’s especially] and talked with Angela “Miha” Jensen.

Thankfully, Corbin later came up to rescue us so we didn’t have to walk home.
