Today my class went on a field trip to the DMA [Dallas Museum of Art]. It was pretty tight. The museum is like 4 stories and a great place to get lost in. One person said you were allowed to take pictures while another personnel said you were not. I didn’t bother because I didn’t want to start a fuss.
They had a showing displayed of AP art students [high schoolers] from the DFW area. That was really cool. I saw some works that I was really impressed by.
Going to the museum really helped me realize what styles and genres of art I like. For exapmle, I don’t like Asian or Spanish art as much as I do American and European. Also, I like paintings and pictures more than I do sculptures. I prefer modern over classical. And portraits over still lifes.
If you’ve never been to a museum you should go sometime. You’d be surprised how much you enjoy it.
