College Day

In high school students are encouraged to explore higher level education.

 Ft. Worth Zoo

Last week I was talking with Jenni and Lauren C. and we realized we needed to take one more college day before we graduated, so we made plans to go to Texas Christian University (TCU).  I ran it by my school and my parents and got everything approved.  I even called and made an appointment with TCU for us to tour the campus at 2pm today.  I had gone through all the proper channels and this morning around 10:30 I was on my way out to Ft. Worth with Jenni, Lauren, and James.

Want to know why we picked TCU?  Because its only 2.9 miles away from the Ft. Worth Zoo.  Yeah, the zoo was what we really wanted.  But in order for our ‘excused absence’ to count we needed to actually visit a college campus and get an official letter saying we were there.

The tour wasn’t bad though (I didn’t think so, at least), but touring the zoo was way better.  The highlight of the trip was watching a swan attack a young giraffe.  That was really intense because it happened right after I said, “It’d be funny if that swan attacked that giraffe”.  And then it happened.  No one got hurt though, so don’t worry.

I’m going to go play tennis,
Andrew Nemeth

  1. A friend of my mom’s once took off his shirt at the zoo, ’cause it was hot, and the gorilla banged on the window like crazy.
