The Snake Hunter

Today I was at work when I got a call from my dad.

The Snake Hunter

He said that he was down in the shop and that he needed me to run down.  I reminded him that I was at work.  He explained that it was an emergency and that he was staring at a huge snake and that he needed me to watch it while he rigged up something to catch it with.  [He didn't want to take his eyes off it because its in our shop, and that is a mess.]

So, a little unsure of what to do I walked out of work and drove home.  I pulled into my driveway and ran down to the shop.  He showed me the snake and as I watched he made a large ‘hook stick’ [which is a hook attached to a large stick].  Unfortunately when he poked the snake it took off and we lost him behind some junk.  An hour later we had moved an entire wall worth of useless stuff and still couldn’t find the snake.

I left a little sweaty, and feeling like I had wasted an hour and a half of my time.  Oh well, I’ll get it next time.  Until then I’ll just have to be careful when I go down to the shop.

P.S.  On a more personal note, I picked up poison ivy on Saturday when I was working in the yard.  I didn’t realize it at the time.  You know what else I didn’t realize?  The importance of washing your hands before going to the bathroom.  I assumed you only needed to wash after.  But now I’ve got… well, its uncomfortable to say the least.
