This is the 8th and final entry documenting my adventures at Cornerstone.
On the 7th day, after I had already sent out the day’s email, I wrestled Bailey to the ground. I felt really good afterwards. Some of you may recognize that as “out-of-character” for me, but Bailey had been less-than-helpful for the latter part of the week and it was creating more work for me [very uncool].
That evening towards about 7pm most of the vendors began packing up since the majority of the people went down to the Main Stage to hear As I Lay Dying, Haste The Day, and Demon Hunter, and had long stopped filtering in. It was around that time that Hayes and I [who had been working the booth an average of 12hrs a day] had become absurd from the long hours and dusty/dry heat*, the behavioral change resulted in a dance party.
That night we packed up everything and struck out for the road. We waved good bye to Cornerstone around midnight. I woke up 9 hours later and moved to “shotgun” [the front passenger seat]. Mr. Phil drove straight through the night [he's a hoss] and then in the morning we swung into a store so he could pick up an audio book [he likes to listen to books on tape as he drives]. The rest of the crew just slept.
Some hours later we stopped for lunch at an Arby’s. I switched spots with Bailey when we piled back into the RV. The rest was fairly boring. Did watch the office on my phone, that was funny [it was the episode when Toby leaves (season finale)].
I lied to my parents about what time I was coming home so that I could surprise them. They enjoyed that. I’ve been back for 14hrs and I’m about to leave for a week again to go to YFN. I don’t plan on taking my laptop, but I’ll blog again from my phone.
