boogie board, cali, heat, hurricane harbor, nate-james, texas, water
Today I went to Hurricane Harbor with Nate-James, Lauren R., Danielle, Eli, and Katy R. We had a very nice time.
The park was packed! When we first got there it took us forever to find a parking spot. We finally found one down past where the busses park [which is out in the middle of no where]. After our long trek to the entrance we enjoyed the cool water. Actually, most of the water wasn’t that cold. Thanks to Texas’ grueling summer heat, most of the water felt like it just came out of a bath tub [and tasted like it too].
I rode the “Big Wave” buggie board thing. I rode it twice. On my first run I did better then I expected. I stayed on long enough so that I didn’t look like a fool, and then I was gently carried away [as apposed to the noobs who got washed away violently]. When I went on it a second time I didn’t do so hot [maybe I was too cocky]. Regardless, the board was washed out from under me and I re-injured my hurt finger.
Along with the boarding we road water slides like “Geranabo” and “Blue Canyon” and some others that I don’t recall the names of. The afternoon was delightful. This evening we invited some people over and had some killer Sundays while watching The Saint [with Val Kilmer].
Nate-James leaves at 4am to go to L.A. Cali. Be praying for him and the rest of the Paradigm missions team.
