Before I get into the lyrical summary of my weekend, take a moment and feast your eyes on this catchy freestyle. The cameras just happened to be rolling as I dropped it like its hot.
Now for you’re feature presentation:
“There was a women’s conference held at the school,
Friday night was Boles High School’s Homecoming football game. Jenni and Lauren came home for it. Jenni and I went to the game [which was a blowout with a final score of 62-0].
As it turns out, the majority of current and former students treat the game as a more of a social gathering then a spectator’s sporting event. It didn’t matter to me though,
On Friday classes were cancelled at CFNI. On Friday students were required to be at the school from 8-12 [normal class schedule]. ”What were you doing there if classes were cancelled?” -you might be asking. The answer:
Women’s Conference
You might have already guessed because I gave away the answer in the title. But regardless I had to sit through 4 hours of women’s teaching. Allow
Thursday nights mean cleaning time for CFNI-ers and in the ‘G’ things get pretty dirty.
Room 914 got off to a rough start but has since gained a sturdy foot and a RA that is more then willing to work with us. He comes in and shows us what we need to clean as apposed to us guessing and then failing.
It was my first time in 2 years. I had forgotten how I feel about dentists. Before my appointment I thought they were going to clean my teeth and my pearly whites would feel smooth and clean. And although they did clean my teeth they kept poking me with a sharp metal pointy tool. I’m pretty sure the cleaning technition
Every Tuesday night CFNI has what they like to call, Tuesday Night Experience. Its mandatory for students, but its usually better then lecture. While there tonight I allowed myself to become distracted during worship and had this thought:
“Why is that side exit door locked? What if there was a fire? Ehh, what are the chances of that. But what if the place got bombed with
Every week I write a rap that will summarize the occurances of my weekend. Drop a beat!
“Friday after I got out of school,
I went to lunch and felt pretty cool,
The cafeteria lady was really nice,
And gave me two portions with extra spice,
From there I left to go 30 miles east,
Where I worked 4 hours at the least,
Called up my mom to see what was cooking,
She didn’t
On Saturday, September 21, 2008 Tim and Lauren Sewalt were united in holy matramony in the most beautiful ceromomy this season. [As I'm writing this I'm thinking of the guy from 27 Dresses].
I went with Jill I. and Taylor H. We had a smashing good time. Zach S. was the best man, he and Tim are cousins and friends.
On Saturday after work I was told that Centre was having a grill out/party. My co-workers and I decided to partake of the free food and swell company.
When we arrived we were told a sad tale of how someone bailed and therefore there was no grill to cook the food. However, there was another one on it’s way. In the mean time, there was cold
Cameron and J. Rush started this thing where they want to–each day–record at least 20 seconds of video during lecture. Cameron wasn’t there during lecture on this particular day and therefore I presented myself as a temporary stand in/reoccurring guest. We finished the above video and about 5 minutes later the power went out. It
I experienced what CFNI had to offer on Tuesday nights. Its called, “Tuesday Night Experience”, and its a mandatory church service. The service was good. The 20′s something pastor from The Potter’s House came and spoke. I enjoyed listening to him. There really isn’t a lot to comment on regarding the actual “Tuesday Night Experience” as its called, but on this particular Tuesday
Today, as I walked out of the IB [main classroom/sanctuary] at school, I realized how beautiful a day it was. I took a moment to feel the sunshine on my face, the wind in my hair, and the “I couldn’t ask for a better temperature” all over my body.
During lunch a small group of us decided we’d take advantage of the pleasant weather and
As I entered the cafeteria during lunch time this afternoon I had no idea what was in store for me. The lady at the front kindly took my lunch number and then permitted me to pass onto what would become the single luckiest moment of my day. It was the tray and silverware selection stand, and waiting for me there was
I missed a call today. I was in a meeting and didn’t want to be rude so I actually ignored it, but I wanted to take it real bad when I saw that it was a friend I hadn’t talked to in a while. She had moved away to college [out of state] and we hadn’t talked much since then [maybe just a txt or two]. So I was pretty excited to talk after
[Note: I don't mean to make light of a storm that left 100's-1000's homeless in the south/coastal area of Texas, I'm just telling you how it affected me]
It didn’t.
I thought there was going to be a pretty heavy storm. I thought people were going to need to stay in doors, avoid the roads, stock up on bottled water. I thought it was going to
Friday night I worked an eleven hour shift because LTUL had a table at the Plano Centre and I went to help promote the cause, I didnt get home ’till 1am. There wasn’t a huge turnout, but we did alright.
We had two volunteers [Garrett & Lance] come and help us. They’re cool guys, and we really appreciated them giving up their Friday night to
[I hope this picture doesn't strike you as too provocative].
Around 8:30 Nathan “Nate-James” Wood called me to see if I wanted to come over and watch The Office season 4 on DVD at his house. I did, of course, and Zach came too. When we got there [after stopping off at Captain D's for some fish baskets, which were delicious] we realized that
[I've been trying to blog about this all day from my phone but it hasn't been working for whatever reason]
Last week was Ashley L.’s birthday. A group of us got together to celebrate, except we didn’t tell her. If you’re slow you might think that mean, but if you catch my drift you’ll understand that we threw Ashley a surprise birthday party. Mary and Jill organized
It was discovered by Ashley sometime last week when she was in the Gordon Lyndsay Prayer Room at CFNI. She won’t take credit fir the discovery, mind you, rather she attributes it to a nice man who was stretching during an early morning prayer session. She tells the story of her being slightly anoyed by this gentleman’s groaning while stretching. But that wasn’t all he was doing, he continually breathed heavy,
I forgot to write a weekend rap up last week. My sincerest apologies. I’ll begin:
“Friday afternoon I drove out east,
Met with my parents and had a feast,
Continued working and got done fast,
Doing the mailing was such a blast,
Late to bed and early to rise,
A portion of my hair met it’s demise,
Clocked in at work at 10:05,
Worked until I no longer felt alive,
That night I hung out
I realize that I’ve posted about twitter before, but I’m not sure that everyone understands it yet.
Today my love for Web 2.0 social networking applications was rekindled. I sent 6 “tweets” today, which for me is a record. Usually its only about one a day. Sometimes 2, if I’m feeling crazy. ”Tweets”, for those of you that don’t know, are messages sent to Twitter and
I was stopped so long I had to pee next to my car!
I’ll explain from the beggining: I was working in Rockwall and being so close to my family (aka: Emily’s cooking) I decided to go home for dinner. After eating I planned to back to office and work till about 8 (it was currently 7:18). At 7:25 I came to a complete stop behind a
For a while now I’ve been looking for an operrunity to move a sleeper-sofa from my patent’s house to my dorm room. Last night seemed like an opportune time.
Paradigm had ended and the interns were working hard to transform the sanctuary from a slamming youth center to our traditional Sunday morning scene. As we finished Zach, James, and I jumped into the car and headed to my house. The plan was to swap my
I live in room 914 of the Gordon Lindsay Tower. In there also lives Juddson and Zach. Being typical college guys we tend to eat a lot, so trips to the not so local Wal-Mart are often reoccurring. On our latest grocery excursion Zach and I visited the Neighborhood Wal-Mart off of 75.
Allow me for a moment to preface this blog entry with the
