Duck Hunter [to no avail]

[I hope this picture doesn't strike you as too provocative].

Around 8:30 Nathan “Nate-James” Wood called me to see if I wanted to come over and watch The Office season 4 on DVD at his house.  I did, of course, and Zach came too.  When we got there [after stopping off at Captain D's for some fish baskets, which were delicious] we realized that Nathan doesn’t have a DVD player.  He was hoping he could just play the DVD in the Wii but it didnt’ work.

Jessica and Jordan showed up a little bit later [after getting lost for a bit in the 'hood].  The all of us sat around looking for something to do when Zach and I spotted DUCK HUNTER!  How awesome is that!?!  So we started hooking things up and plugging in cords and controllers, and last but unforgettably not least, we blew in the cartridges to get all the dust out.

But that didn’t work out either.  The Nintendo would power up and the TV recognized it, but the picture wouldn’t come through.  The sound did.  So I played around with the Nintendo controller until I had successfully started a game of Mario Brothers [Duck Hunter wouldn't work with the TV not showing a clear picture].  What I would do [since I couldn't see what was going on] is hold down the right [->] arrow button while pressing the “A” button every once in a while.  I [think I] made it pretty far, but I didn’t get a chance to finish a level.

Hopefully Nathan will pick up a DVD player soon enough, then we’ll be able to enjoy the comedic genius of Greg Daniels, Rain Wilson, John Krasinski, and Steve Carrell.

  1. oh, you officially have my respect. Duck Hunter was part of the foundation of my childhood, even though i don’t play video games as a rule.
