[I've been trying to blog about this all day from my phone but it hasn't been working for whatever reason]

Last week was Ashley L.’s birthday.  A group of us got together to celebrate, except we didn’t tell her.  If you’re slow you might think that mean, but if you catch my drift you’ll understand that we threw Ashley a surprise birthday party.  Mary and Jill organized most of it, but I showed up, and that is a vital part of any party.

As you can see here [in the picture above] we strategically hid behind trees as Ashley approached the picnic table on the north side of White Rock Lake.  On the signal we all leapt out from behind the trees and shouted surprise [at least that's how I remember it].  Ashley was surprised.

The party was a big hit.  Not only was their ice cream and root beer [to make floats], but there was also a see-saw and a swing set.  These supplied us with hours of enjoyment, as did a frisbee and football.

One of the most exciting moments was the gift exchange.  Not only did Ashley receive awesome gifts such as a strobe light [for dance parties] and the movie “Adventures In Babysitting” but many party goers donned fake mustaches.  I have some pictures here if you’d care to see ‘em:

The evening concluded with a visit to Chipotle.
