Last Saturday Juddson and I had to kill some time while we waited for some friends to finish with a previous engagement. What better place to kill time then at Starbucks? While there we ran into Brett and Bri Morris. After a good while and a couple drinks we felt it was time to grab a bite to eat. Wanting to stay local, within budget, and still keep taste in mind, we ventured a short distance to Chick-Fil-A. Since the weather was pleasant we ate outside.
We had finished our meal, but a leisure schedule prevented us from getting up and leaving. There we sat chatting the evening away until an suv pulled up and out jumped 6 pre-teens on a mission. They approached us rather quickly and while they were still a ways away they shouted, “We’re doing a scavenger hunt”. I suppose this comment was meant to dis-alarm us as we must have been visibly shocked by the onslaught of youngsters.
“We have to sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to a stranger” said the leader of the pack.
Juddson was quick to retort, “I don’t believe you,”
They insisted. A long lad went on to explain that it was a birthday party and they were doing a scavenger hunt and this was one of the things they needed.
Assumably they were on a time crunch because they began singing but not together. The Camera boy stopped them and began recording and then cued them to begin. Meanwhile I, being more than willing to go along with it, shouted, “…to Andrew”.
The singing concluded and they hurried away leaving us to pick up where our conversation had left off.
