Today was a wonderful day for family and friends to join each other in a feast of thankfulness.
My immediate family went to the Minth’s for the day. While there I think I ate my weight in tasty, delicious, home-cooked food. Pstr. Nick and Mrs. Liz were also there.
Nothing really happened other than eating and talking. A group did settle down to watch the
After eating at Chan Tai the group of us [Zach, Rachel, Julia, and myself] went to Starbucks for something warm. While there we noticed that the Starbucks Customer of the Week was Scott. His drink of choice was a Venti Coffee. We talked about this for a little while, wondering how one becomes the “Customer
Last night I made plans to meet some friends for Thai food. I used google to help me find a nice little place [Chan Thai] in the Bishop Arts District of Old Oak Cliff.
When Zach and I arrived we noticed that their menu’s were not traditional. Instead of watercolors with asian symbols, it was a collage of bright colors and topless men.
Room 914 has recently learned of a new and revolutionary way to wash dishes.
It all began a few weeks ago when Zach and I made nachos for dinner. The microwave baked the excess cheese onto the plate. When it came time to wash the plate the cheese was really stuck on there. Juddson was in charge of doing the dishes, and since he hadn’t eaten any of the nachos he didn’t want to wash
This is a weekly segment called “Weekend Rap-Up”. Its a lyrical summary of my week. Its also a clever pun.
Now drop a beat!
“After work on Friday,
I went to see poetry play,
It was basket ball time,
In the south east where there’s lots of crime,
The drive made for a pretty long ride,
But worth it to see Reid drain to 3′s from outside,
That night was spent
In the bleachers of the gymnasium at a South/East Dallas school you can see the above picture displayed on the window. In this picture you can only read, “Never Give” but I doubt that was what the sign meant to say, because that doesn’t make a lot of sense.
Many would assume that the sign meant to say things like,
At CFNI we start every lecture with praise and worship. Then when that is finished one of the deans will come and introduce the speaker. After praise and worship today Pstr. Adam McCain got up and began to introduce the family ministries program. They were scheduled to speak to us today. He said that they had a “program” for us. He cued for the lights to
It seems that at CFNI the 11 o’clock hour does not exist. For some reason that seemingly consistant hour becomes elusive and dodgy. I’ll ellaborate:
Curfew on the weekdays is 11pm. Most nights I get home between 10:45pm and 10:57pm. I arrive to my room and settle down to do homework, to blog, to organize things for the next days excursions, to bathe, and whatever other necesary doings. However, after what feels like mere
Tonight the Poetry Pioneers tried to stake claim in Addison as they faced the Fairhill Falcons. It was a clash of the titans as these two fierce competitors stood toe to toe. Tentions were high as the basket ball game got underway.
A large crowd showed to cheer on the visiting Pioneers, but their cheers and shouts weren’t enough to push the underdog on
Tonight at CFNI, from 7pm-9pm, the girls were allowed into the Gordon Lyndsay Tower.
It was a momentous occasion that I’m told only happens once a year. I’ll explain further: The “G” is the guy’s housing. Its an old hotel off of Kiest. Girls aren’t allowed to go up, they can hang out in the lobby. But that’s all. However, on this one special
This morning Emily came into my room as I was waking up. We were talking and catching up, since I hadn’t seen her in a couple days. As we were doing so Gracie, my sister’s cat, walked into my room and began to pee on some clothes that were on the floor near my dresser.
Last night the Boles Hornets stung the Collinsville Pirates at the Division playoffs.
The final score was 44-27 and the temperature felt like it was somewhere in between those numbers.
As it turned out, a cold front was set to blow in yesterday evening. Lauren and I went to the game, but we failed to plan for the arctic conditions [her in a dress and myself in
Emily, Taylor H., Angela M., and my mother arrived home from New York City on monday night. A group of us were there to welcome them home, complete with posters made out of paper toilet seat covers.
Yeah, that’s right. Paper toilet seat covers. And when the girls walked in we “crowned” them and had them wear their posters like necklaces. I think they
Today during school a text was sent to announce that there would be an exclusive (small) Stavely show at SMU campus. That was all the details I needed to want to be there.
Later after work I hopped on the horn (phone) and hollared at some of my bro’s to go with me to Dallas and watch the musical euphorium that is Stavely.
Yesterday a small group of us celebrated Zach Shea’s 21st birthday.
We went to Hunky’s and had lunch, then while I went to work the group did some other fun stuff. [Hunky's is an interesting restaurant with some "unique" art on the walls. And by "unique" I mean provocative. The burgers were good though.]
After church we went to the Harrison’s for some Birthday pie.
Last month more than 1000 positions were eliminated in the Dallas Independent School District. This morning I saw an advertisement on the side of a semi encouraging people to seek employment opportunities in the Dallas School District.
I sure hope that if DISD had to cut over 1000 positions [375 of which were classroom teachers; 3% of the teachers in the district] in an
The majority of my house parties occur outside in the backyard with a lot of couches. It’s fun, the weather is usually nice, it’s comfy, and kinda creative. But last time we didn’t have enough seating, so for my party this weekend I wanted to get another couch.
I found a free one on craigslist in the Garland/Rowlett area. A-Town was over to help me prep for
