Starbucks – Customer of the Week

Starbucks - Customer of the Week

After eating at Chan Tai the group of us [Zach, Rachel, Julia, and myself] went to Starbucks for something warm.  While there we noticed that the Starbucks Customer of the Week was Scott.  His drink of choice was a Venti Coffee.  We talked about this for a little while, wondering how one becomes the “Customer of the Week” and other details of like.

Our conversation continued as we talked more about funny things that had happened recently, and I told a tale of Paul saying “It went up” and it being answered with “Not much” by a nervous bystander because he misheard paul say “What’s up”.  As we talked, a middle aged gentleman walked in and Zach quietly announced to the group, “He looks like a Scott”.  The man received his drink and then walked over to the amenities table for sugar and creamer.  Rachel, being the spirited one of our bunch, shouted, “Scott!”.

Unexpectedly, he turned around.  Zach stared at him blankly and stammered, “Is your name Scott?”

“Yes,” said the man [now known as Scott].

Zach asked, “Are you the customer of the week?”

“Yes, I am” said Scott

From there the conversation took a turn as Zach tried to explain how he guessed that this perfect stranger was the Customer of the Week.  He didn’t really have anything to go off of other than just a “gut feeling” and that the man looked like a Scott.

DOUBLE FEATURE

While at Starbucks Rachel ordered a Chai Tea.  It had a lot of foam on the top that she didn’t want, to get rid of it she grabbed a straw and began scraping it off the top.  She didn’t have anywhere to put the foam until she saw my face, without a word she just scraped some foam and then thrust the straw towards my face.  I, seeing the determination in her eyes to dispose of the foam, knew that if I didn’t allow it to go in my mouth it would end up all over my face [which it still ended up doing later].  After about 4 straw-fulls of foam I didn’t want anymore, and in a defiant and dramatic act I spit up all the foam she had given me into the overturned lid of her cup.  I then went to wash my mustache and mouth out.

Zach, who wasn’t paying attention, was dared by Rachel to try some of the foam sitting in her overturned lid.  After he did she told him how I had spit it up. When I returned from the bathroom he had a look of terror on his face as he asked, “Did you have that in your mouth?!?”  I explained that I did, and seeing that what was done was done, he sat back, shrugged, and finished his hot chocolate.

  3. First off, I am going agree with Bri you indeed forgot to mention that is was Juddson’s birthday.

And second, I wish you would of asked Scott, your new found famous friend, how he became the customer of the week. So that you could work really hard at getting that award.

Last but not least, Shea’s response in the double feature reminded me of Shayna when she ate the dot candy found on my living room floor.
