Ransomed

I don’t have an actual picture (in order to ensure the safety of all involved parties). So I just snapped a picture of one of the lamps in my apartment. Anyways here’s what happened:

Juddson and I were hanging out with 2 of our friends last night. The weather was awesome so instead of being cooped up in doors we went out to a park to congregate in the outdoors. After we left there the 4 of us stopped at a gas station for some drinks.

While my friend was paying for her drink she set her iPhone down on the counter. After the transaction she picked up her drink an forgot her phone. A few minutes later Juddson and I were headed home when we recieved a call asking if our friend had left her phone in the car. While searching the seats I decided to call the number and see if I could hear it ring.

After 2 rings it was answered by a Hispanic gentleman*. Quickly putting 2 and 2 together I realized that this man was behind us in line at the gas station and that he had picked up the phone. I explained to him that I needed the phone back and being the gentleman* that he was he told me it would cost $100 to get it back. When I told him I didn’t have the money he laughed and told me to call him tomorrow with his money.

We reluctantly called back 40 minutes later with the money. He agreed to meet us at the gas station where we had left the phone. Juddson and I were 15 min away. He said that if we weren’t there in 10min he’d leave. When we got there we called him and after 30 minutes of shenanigans we realized that he had no intention of meeting with us so we could buy back the phone.

He did however make calls and send inapropriate txt’s from the phone. Fortunatley it was soon disconected by AT&T, but not before a sizable amount of damage had been done.

It’s too bad some people are such jerks.
