Today I was leaving work.  The way the exit is for the parking garage at the offices at Mockingbird Station requires that a police officer come by to direct traffic during the 5 o’clock hour.  Because of the influx of traffic due to rush hour it becomes increasingly difficult to pull out of the parking garage, thus the police officer is needed.

Normally, two or three cars will be in line to exit the parking

Last night Ian came over. He, Zach, and myself were going to hang out and have a guys night. We ran up to walmart and picked up a pizza and a red box. As we were on our way back to the apartment Ian mentioned that some of friends are into this anti-energy drink called Drank.

Zach and I had both heard of Drank, but none of

School was cancelled today because of the ice. So was paradigm tonight. I’m a little disapointed that we aren’t having church. We were going to pick small groups tonight. However, I am not at all disapinted that school was cancelled.

Also, the ice wasn’t all bad, I found that the top level of the parking garage had a lot of ice and no cars, so I

Poetry Pioneers

First off I’d like to pose the following question: “If Warriors war, then do Pioneers pion?”

Tonight, down in the small town of Poetry a basketball game was underway.  It was a clash of the titans as RCA brought their A-game out to meet some of Poetry’s best [not the police, those are Poetry's finest; granted Poetry is big enough to have a police officer].

I had a crazy amount of homework that I needed to do today. And I finally got it done, with thanks to my friends.

I had almost 120 pages that needed to be read by Monday. I had started some Saturday night but didn’t get very far because some people came over. Finally I buckled down and got to work at starbucks after church this morning.

Cornish Pasty

I made Cornish Pasty tonight for dinner.

For those of you that are less cultured then myself [aka: your sister isn't a chef] you might never have seen “Cornish Pasty’s” before.  If that is the case, then I send my sincerest regards, because well—to be frank—they are delicious.  And so very delicious.

Being out on my own I’m trying to cook different things then the

Tonight, shortly after arriving home from a late night at work, my dad noticed that the hot water heater was leaking. He being the knowledable “Mr. Fix-It” that he is knew immediatley what to do. While I, being the young enthusiastic “go getter” that I am, watched eagerly.

My dad attached a hose from the backyard to the bottom of the water heater and then began untightening

Last night [Wednesday, 01/22/09] Paradigm had a special service in which guest speaker Pastor Jaycee Jennings came and brought the word.  Guest worship band Regeneration [YFN's house band] also was present.

The service was great.  I enjoyed the worship and the word.  It was also good to see some old faces.

If you weren’t able to come you can look over my notes to see a little bit of what you missed.  Note: Reading what I wrote

Early Saturday morning Paradigm Adult leaders/Interns embarked on a journey to South Fork, Colorado.  The trek took about 14 hours, and it was worth every second.

I’ve been snowboarding/skiing a few times before, but I love it and I’m always excited to go again.  Being up on the mountain was extraordinary.  The views were breathtaking and the air was so crisp and clear.  I did pretty good,

Dollar Hat

Dollar Hat’s are awesome.  They keep your head warm, and they’re super stylish.  You might be wondering why they’re called “Dollar Hat”.  Its because you can by them for a dollar at the dollar store.  I wrote this rhyme for the hat.

“When my head gets cold—dollar hat,

When the wind starts to blow—dollar hat,

When my hair is messy, dollar hat,

Last night was Angela Musser’s birthday party. It was hosted at her house and was tons of fun. There was plenty of food, friends, and shouting (taboo).

Angela Musser is a long time friend and twitter follower. There is also a special bond that has developed over the years as I’ve had close ties with many of her relatives. She will soon be 20 years old,

Sweep the Ceiling

Yesterday I got an email from my co-worker saying that today the office would be going on a field trip to the property [Lake Front land in East Texas].

I wasn’t sure what to expect really.  The only details I had were to wear comfy clothes and be there by 9am.  As it would turn out our “field trip” was centered on moving.

Racquet Wall is a new game best played with 4 people.  You can play 3-z’s but its easier with two teams of two.  It was created by a couple of guys that were working the Paradigm fireworks stand.

What you will need to play is one large wall, one tennis racquet, some tennis balls, and a way of marking a line [we use a

Yesterday was Alan “A-Town” Jensen’s birthday.  A whole crew of us went to help him celebrate at his house.  You can see all of us fellas huddled around the table, and more importantly the Hamburger Cake [but even more importantly Bri's pie].

The festivities were endless, the food plentiful, friends were all around—it was everything necessary for a good party evening.  We even had some unexpected guests

Last night the weather was so nice here in Dallas that I decided I’d go for a little bike ride.  I asked to borrow Juddson’s Schwin [pictured above].  This is a classy re-done fixed -gear road bike. I took it outside of the apartment complex and began riding around the parking lot.  Then I headed over to the parking garage.

Happy New Year

On December 31st a group assembled at my parents house to usher in the New Year.  There was food, fun, friends, and family.  It was a great party that at the climax of which we played a game of mafia which escalated to a number of friendly shouting matches.  I feel like I lost every round, but I still had fun.
