My toaster broke. And if you follow me on twitter you may have read about my frustration with a lack of good thrift stores in Rockwall. Fortunately Helping Hands did have a toaster, but I’m still looking for a cheap blender, mixer, and food processor [which they didn't have].
When I arrived at Helping Hands I went straight for the appliance wall. I found a number of printers and old film cameras. There was also a food steamer and a waffle maker, but other than the toaster there was nothing that I needed. I also looked around for the kitchen section [which didn't exist]. I did however find one shelf that had some knifes and spoons [why doesn't anyone have forks? Even in my own apartment we've lost most our forks while still retaining our knifes and spoons].
Pstr. Nick told me about another thrift store in Rockwall, but I couldn’t find it. When I called the number to ask for directions they said that they had closed down. Bummer.
I’m hoping this weekend I’ll find some time to go with A-Town out to Thrift City or perhaps Texas Thrift and snag some good deals on kitchen appliances.

Yeah, the other thrift store closed down, as did the library there. But there’s apparently a health clinic over there. It’s a lot less expensive to get shots from there than from a normal practice.

the Salvation Army store at the SE corner of Inwood & Harry Hines is pretty much the mother of all thrift stores. lottsa furniture, but there is a decent kitchen section in back

I agree with Marty. That is by far my favorite thrift store. But the other 2 you mentioned are good but the best kitchen selection is most likely Salvation Army.

Have you tried the Good Will @ Broadway and 30?
