Today I took a trip to Cromwell, Oklahoma. I didn’t have school, so I asked off work and gave myself a 3-day weekend. The occasion [other than seeing an old friend] is Tafv’s birthday. I would tell you all what I got her, but in case she reads this I don’t want to ruin the surprise for tomorrow.
On the way up we encountered some rain, and remembering that my windshield wipers were shot I pulled into an AutoZone and picked up some new ones. I got the driver’s side on correctly, but was having some trouble with the passenger side when a female AutoZone employee came up and offered to help. Her name tag said, “Billy” and she had my new wiper on there in a jiffy.
Cromwell was still another couple hours out, but after I arrived I went fishing with Grace and the kids in the pond behind her house and had some fun. We caught these little perch, Stone [Grace's son] wanted to touch it but I don’t think he understands that they’ve got pokey spikes.
Its good to see Grace and her family again.
