PSA: Home Security

PSA Home Security

The other night Zach came home, and while unlocking our apartment door the neighbor two doors down stopped him and asked to use his phone.  He allowed her to, and while waiting for her to finish using it he became engaged in the event she was calling about.  Her apartment had been broken into.

As the story goes, she had gone out of town and asked her friend to stay at her apartment.  Some time between her friend leaving and the lady returning some mugger guy kicked in her door.  I never found out if much was missing, but my theory was that the crime was done by an inside man.

The majority of crimes in my area are committed by a friend of a friend.  Example:  the neighbor lady asks her friend to watch her apartment.  While watching the apartment the friend invites another friend over [who doesn't know the apartment owner well/at all].  That friend of a friend now knows some of the valuables in the house and when the friend and owner will be gone.

Case cracked.  I should be a detective.

What’s a little funnier was two nights later Zach and I came home to see the neighbor across the hallway had left his keys in his door.  He didn’t get broken into.
