Yo, let’s kick it!

Friday when I drove in to Rockwall,

I was sure glad that it wasn’t fall,

We were all headed down to the beach,

For a church event without al the preach,

It was a time to get together,

and to get to know one another,

The bus ride was long—we didn’t get there ’till late,

But it wasn’t bad I sat with me mate,

Arriving at the houses we settled in quick,

The set up we had was pretty slick,

Since it was after 1 we went to bed soon,

I felt like I could have slept until noon,

But at 8 I was awaken with food,

Waking up on the beach puts you in a good mood,

The afternoon had an array of fun,

We spent all day out in the sun,

Our small groups split up into teams,

It was better than most of my dreams,

My team was Anoa and we dominated,

That last statement could very well be debated,

We made sand castles and ran a relay,

We were out on the beach for most of the day,

At night when we gathered ’round the bon fire,

We broke into groups to talk and conspire,

Personal connections were made,

As friendship foundations were laid,

The next morning and even that night,

Everyone was burnt and their skin glowed bright,

My chest was so red it hurt to wear clothes,

I even got sunburnt on my nose,

On sunday few people went back out,

Most of us hurt so bad we could shout,

“No more sun, No more sun,

This burning on my back is not fun.”

Later we packed up and headed back,

On the bus each of us ate a snack,

Our bus finally pulled into the church,

And soon began the notorious search,

Looking for your bag in the sea of cargo,

When you finally find it, its time to go.
