Last night there was a pool party/grill out for the adult and intern leaders of Paradigm [the youth group I work with].  Jack Green was kind enough to let us use his house—which just so happens to be great for these kinds of shindigs.

The event started with some great tasting burgers and hot dogs.  Groups of us talked and congregated around tables and the water coolers.  This was great and all but Lauren R. and I had a taste for adventure that no amount of burgers could satiate. We wanted in the pool [and unlike the Indigo's pool this pool was very open and very ready to be swam in]. Naturally, we were the first to jump in.  Just minutes later everyone was making their way towards the pool.

When I had exerted enough energy swimming and holding small children above water I made my way to the hot tub.  Enjoyed that for a little while until I was recruited to play volleyball. My team lost 2 games and only one once, but I blame it largely on the field.  The sides were uneven, but I didn’t mind.  I had a really good hit on Aaron Money and Shayna Lane.

After the games we all got back in the water.  A-Will and Shayna both did flips into the pool.  Neither broke anything or drew blood, so they both won in my eyes.

As the night began to wind down, I dried off and quietly said my goodbyes so I could go meet a friend that was in town who I hadn’t seen in a few years.
