Hospital Visit

Hospital

Lately, when I get any free time I like to run up to the hospital to see Richard.

He’s been moved down to 7th floor, which means he is no longer in ICU.  It also means there are less visitor restrictions.  The nurses aren’t as good but its definitely less stress full, and it shows the improvement that Richard is making.

He can now eat and drink on his own.  He is walking a little bit with the help of a walker and he can sit up.  He’s stretching a lot to try and regain more of his range of motion.  His fingers are still a bit shaky but his speech is perfect.

Physical Therapy [PT] and Occupational Therapy [OT] are going to take some time.  He tried writing today and found it to be more difficult than he had hoped.  Richard says its almost like being in 1st grade again because they are having to teach his muscles how to write again.

Despite all that though Richard is in excellent spirits and greatly appreciates the visits from friends and family.
