friends, graduation, IHOP, kids, party, swimming, Weekend Rap Up
Everyone loves a good rap song. And what better basis for a rap song than the key events of my weekend. That’s right, in this weekly segment entitled “Weekend Rap-Up” I summarize the happenings of my Friday-Sunday. Sometimes its difficult [as the reader] to feel the same rhythm that I do as I write these, but do your best and if all else fails just read it like poetry.
On Friday I hung out with a friend,
I thought the good times would never end,
But they did a little after midnight,
When we both decided to say good night,
Saturday when I woke up,
I got a little bit dressed up,
Emily was graduating at Lakepoint in an hour,
And I had just hopped out of the shower,
I raced down the freeway avoiding a collision,
I hope none of the seniors are plagued by indecision,
Afterwards we went to IHOP,
Emily wanted breakfast so we decided to stop,
From there we all went to party prep mode,
When we left IHOP we hit the road,
The party that night was awfully jumpin’,
Emily had the party pumpin’ pumpin’,
Everything wound down around 11 o’clock,
We cleaned up the party and threw out some beef stock,
We did however make time for a redbox,
We rented Valkyrie—I took off my socks,
Sunday morning came sooner than expected,
I woke up but didn’t want to get out of bed,
I made it to church right when I was supposed to,
I worked to keep kids from doing what they weren’t supposed to,
After service I went to my parents’ home for a meal,
We had leftover brisket—which was no veal,
But don’t get me wrong it tasted superb,
Sometimes I miss living in a suburb,
Later that I day I went swimming twice,
Both times were really nice.
What do you know about that.
