Fire!
I got a txt Wednesday while I was at YFN. It asked, “Is that your apartments that are on fire?”
I checked the news and txt some other people to find out that my apartment complex, The Indigo, had caught fire. I skipped a session and went over to see the damage. They wouldn’t let me get close, but there was like 20 fire engines there and the parking lot was crawling with firemen and police officers.
Later Thursday afternoon I was able to go back into the building escorted by a Dallas Police officer. I had only a few minutes to check for damage and pack some essentials.
Because of the condition of the building the residents have been evacuated and are not permitted back for, what some news sources are saying, a week.
I’m temporarily homeless, but don’t worry because I’ve got places to go.
