I went snowboarding today.
A some-what annual tradition has been in place for myself and some of my friends to go snowboarding every year over the MLK 3-day weekend. We firmly believe that the best way to celebrate the life of a civil rights activist is to journey to the mountains. Perhaps that’s because he mention in one of his greatest speeches that he had, “…been to the mountaintop…” or perhaps the snowboarding and MLK aren’t really related and its just a decent time to go.
Who knows?!?
While I was up there I had a blast. One of the best moments occurred while I was trying to help Christina learn to snowboard. She wasn’t catching on very quickly and seemed to have trouble not-falling so after a good while of slowly making our way down the mountain I proposed that she unclip her boots and simply sit on the board. I then used a strap to pull her and her snowboard down the mountain as I snowboarded down atop my board. We made it down the mountain much quicker and I think we both enjoyed it a bit more.

if i weren’t so prideful i would have had jordan do the same thing my first time down that slope…pride hurts
