nate-james, picnic, soup, YFN
On Thursday I went on a picnic with L. Russell. We shared soup, cashews, trail-mix, and a kit-kat to create our 3 course meal.
It was modest to say the least, but the weather was pleasant and the conversation was easy.
Its funny how it came together. I was driving towards the YFN office, and she was leaving the SYM room. I in my car and her in her’s we drove towards each other down a narrow side street. I pulled in front of her to stop her car and hopped out to say hi. I opened her passenger door and saw that she was on the phone. It was Nate-James, so she put it on “speaker” and the 3 of us chatted a bit. When we hung up with Nathan, I asked her what she was doing for lunch. She said she didn’t have any plans and was going to go home. Half jokingly I asked if she wanted to go on a picnic. She chuckled and said she didn’t have any food, but I insisted that I had enough soup and cashews for both of us.
She agreed and ran up to the gas station to grab some drinks while I slipped inside and borrowed some plasticware and the microwave. Then we rendezvoused at the bleachers near the field, where we sat and ate and chatted until I needed to go to Musical practice.
I think people should have more spontaneous picnics.
