Server Maintenance

My server [affectionately called "Teletron"] went down about a week ago.

I’m scavenging some old parts from another computer to rebuild it harder, better, faster, stronger.  I’d rename it Kanye, but I don’t ever want it to stop me while I’m in the middle of something.

I think between Friday and Saturday I’ve spent about 8 or 9 hours trying to get all my data recovered. I’m at about 90% successfully recovered.

  1. Your breaking the cardinal rule of working with electronics on the carpet. Are you wearing your static wrist strap? Sike, I do the same thing.

My desk wasn’t big enough and my office is carpeted. Fortunately the weather was good enough that I wasn’t too static-y. But I kept grabbing at metal things every few minutes just to be safe.
